Pop Shop IV (C), (Littmann P. 147) by Keith Haring shows two of Haring’s famed figures moving through one another in brilliant yellow, red on a brown background.

The radiant red figure stretches its arm up as the yellow figure dives through them. The work pulses with a sense of immediacy and energy - the simple figures contrasting with the emotional depth and impact of their gestures. As across his work, stripped back gesture replaces detailed facial expression, allowing the figures to communicate instantly through rhythm, posture and motion alone.

The imagery in Pop Shop IV (C) reflects many of the recurring themes that defined Haring’s late work — unity, collective energy, spirituality and human connection. The radiant figure above introduces an almost celestial presence, while the intertwined figures below suggest support, collaboration and shared movement.

Pop Shop IV (C) captures the directness and optimism that continue to define Haring’s most celebrated works. Balancing movement, colour and symbolic gesture with remarkable economy, the print demonstrates why the Pop Shop series continues to be among the most important and sought-after bodies of work within Haring’s editioned output.
