Bad Boys 2 (Littmann P. 57) by Keith Haring forms part of the artist's Bad Boys series, a group of works that address sexuality and desire with an unusual degree of openness. Created in 1986, the series reflects a period in which Haring increasingly incorporated personal subject matter into his art while retaining the immediacy and accessibility that defined his career.

Bad Boys 2 centres on a single male figure depicted from the front, rendered through a network of flowing black lines that define the body and its features. The figure's exposed sexuality is presented directly, yet Haring avoids naturalism, instead transforming the body into a highly stylised arrangement of contours, patterns and gestures.

The Bad Boys series occupies a distinct place within Haring's body of work. While many of his best-known images rely on universally recognisable symbols such as radiant babies and dancing figures, these works focus more specifically on adult sexuality and queer experience. As an openly gay artist working in New York during the 1980s, Haring brought visibility to subjects that were rarely addressed so directly within contemporary art.
