Lucky Strike 5 (Littmann P. 79) by Keith Haring presents a dancing figure balanced above a Lucky Strike packet, transforming a familiar commercial product into a stage-like platform for performance and movement. Lucky Strike 5 captures Haring's ability to combine the imagery of advertising with the themes of celebration and public spectacle that appear throughout his work.

Created in 1987, the print belongs to a period when Haring was actively exploring how art could exist beyond traditional gallery settings. Through projects such as the Pop Shop, he embraced mass distribution and sought to engage with audiences through imagery that was already deeply embedded within contemporary culture. The Lucky Strike logo provided an ideal subject, functioning as one of the most widely recognised symbols of its era.

The relationship between the dancing figures and the packet creates a visual parallel between entertainment and advertising. Both rely on visibility and public attention; themes that interested Haring throughout his career. In this respect, the work shares common ground with Andy Warhol's exploration of celebrity, consumer products and the increasingly commercial nature of modern culture as expressed through art.
