Keith Haring
42 1/2 x 54 in
Blueprint Drawing 6 (Littmann P. 178) by Keith Haring organises a sequence of boxed scenes across the sheet, each compartment holding a separate moment of intimacy or movement, dotted patterning threading the panels together.
The Blueprint Drawings take their name from the technical process behind them — Haring's original ink drawings run through architectural blueprint reproduction, turning black line into white line on blue ground. Made in 1990 as his health was failing, the compartmentalised structure here does double duty: comic-strip pacing on one level, something closer to a storyboard for work he'd never get to make on another.
